Private Instruction with Victoria

"Things to do today:  Exhale, inhale, exhale.  Ahhh."

 - Jack Kornfield, Buddha's Little Instruction Book

Traditionally, yoga was taught one-on-one, teacher to student. In that way, the individual needs of the student were sure to be met. Although this custom has been lost in today’s popular group class setting, private instruction remains important and is highly recommended as the optimal way to start, restart or deepen one’s yoga practice.

Privates are perfect for individuals, couples, families or friends. Just as private golf, tennis or music instruction is valuable, such is the case with yoga.

Whether you’re just beginning or experienced, or if you have unique limitations, injuries or restrictions,  private instruction can be of great benefit. A private session allows the teacher and student to openly discuss and address the student’s questions, concerns, special needs, and circumstances:

·        For beginning or returning students– Jumpstart or recharge your practice safely.

·        For ongoing/advanced students – Focus on those poses or aspects of your practice that you feel need special attention and take your practice to the next level.

·        For those with special needs – If you’re plagued chronic aches and pains, neck, shoulders and/or lower back discomfort or just need help relieving tension, stress or anxiety.

Whatever your situation, modified stretches and poses, breathing practices, and a personalized yoga sequence and program,  specific to  your needs, can be created.

Private instruction is an excellent investment in you! Starting at $85.00/hour, $100.00/ 90 minutes, fees depend upon group size and location/travel time. Contact Victoria at lifestyleyoga@aol.com to discuss and work out arrangements for your private session.

Working with Victoria has been a wonderfully enlightening experience. As an on- and-off again yoga student for most of my life, I have had many teachers, yet none quite like her. Victoria brings her own unique experience and knowledge of the body to the practice. Her instruction is enjoyable, hands on and practical. Guiding you into the world of yoga, she mindfully teaches you about your own body and its needs. She shows you how to align and open yourself to a  very trans-formative yoga that lifts you gently to another level of surrender. My work with Victoria has led me to a relationship with my body and mind that I did not know was available to me. I find her to be one of the best teachers I have ever experienced and I feel grateful to have found my way to her.”                                                            -Jophe J-G.,  Montecito, CA

"Victoria is an inspiration!  I love the combination of Iyengar and Hatha styles in "Gentle Flow".  Her gentle, thoughtful and clear teaching style has helped me advance further in my practice than ever before.  Practicing yoga weekly with Victoria is like receiving a thoughtful gift each time.  I fine myself recommending her over and over again."  - Nancy W., Santa Barbara, CA

"Privates have been a great way for me to continue to grow  my practice in a safe and nurturing environment.  Having had many teachers over the years, makes me appreciate just how good a teacher Victoria really is. She is not only knowledgeable but is also very patient and committed to helping me learn the more challenging poses without any risk of injury.  And, they are fun.  Of course, when I begin to tire and start getting a little sloppy, there is no place to hide!  But that's good too since it points out my limitations and keeps me honest!"                                      -Cheryl K., Carefree, AZ

"After many years I finally feel as though my yoga practice has developed a firm foundation thanks to Victoria.   Our neighborhood yoga class is very much like a family and Victoria has a way of attending to and embracing everyone so that it feels very nurturing, safe and supportive.  And best of all she has a great sense of humor!

Thank you so much, Victoria, for being you. For being such a great example of a yogini.  For being a loving and kind teacher and sharing your insights into the yogic way of life.".  - Suzi S., Santa Barbara, CA

"Victoria's classes are paced well so that I'm able to do more and not be in pain the next day!  Victoria does a great job of keeping the focus on you instead of her.  Victoria always seems so genuinely grateful for her students.  The classes are challenging in a very safe environment.  I would (and do) recommend your classes!" - Soj A., Santa Barbara, CA

"I really do not like to exercise, or at least actually know that I am exercising.  I hate to run and swim.  I like to chase things and lose myself in the chase.  Yoga is like that for me.  Actually, Victoria's yoga instruction is like that for me - she gets the credit.  It takes me to another calmer me, and engages my mind and body.  As I pass through my forties and beyond, I worry about my body aging and especially osteoporosis.  In the last six months, practicing only twice a week, I can honestly say I have gained amazing upper body strength and improved  my posture.  Beside these physical benefits, it is very empowering for mind self-confidence."  - P.K., Montecito, CA
